Silver Cove

Great Stirrup Cay

Location   Great Stirrup Cay Bahamas

Scope       Design and Build

Value        USD 3 Million

Client        Norwegian Cruise Line

Status       Completed. 2024

Silver Cove marked the first step in the ongoing transformation of Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) private island destination in the Bahamas' Berry Islands. This 268-acre haven, originally purchased by NCL in 1977 as the industry's first private cruise destination, continues to evolve through "The Norwegian Edge" enhancement program, blending authentic Bahamian vibes with upscale amenities. BEG had the opportunity to develop the island's first dedicated pool and pool MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) building—a landmark achievement in this remote location. Unveiled in early 2024 Silver Cove infinity-edge pool redefines relaxation with its heated lagoon design, invigorating water jets, and seamless ocean views that frame your anchored ship on the horizon. Surrounded by a LifeFloor® dry safety surfacing area and artificially created rock formations that echo the two iconic limestone outcrops across the turquoise waters, the pool integrates effortlessly into Silver Cove's exclusive gated retreat. BEG self-performed the entire construction, bringing all necesary equipment, labor and material to this remote Norwegian's private destination. This project not only introduced the island's inaugural swimming facility but also amplified Great Stirrup Cay's status as NCL's highest-rated port of call.
